According to Wikipedia, a jangseung is a Korean totem pole made with wood to ward off demons. They were commonly placed at the entrance of a village to symbolize protectors or guardians and regarded as deities or spirits linked to shamanism.

project description:
I have been making a curtain and a totem utilizing detritus that I have been collecting since 2013. I was imagining an entry of a domestic space where the viewer would face the totemic sculpture before entering through the curtain made from debris.
